Musafir Cafe in Mussoorie: is it a real cafe?

Many people search for "Musafir Cafe in Mussoorie" after watching Musafir Cafe, the Netflix drama based on Divya Prakash Dubey's novel. According to Time Out India (Aug 2026), the Mussoorie scenes were shot at Jharipani Castle, a heritage property in Jharipani about 7 km from the main town that runs as a boutique hotel.

The same report says the cafe interiors were built for the shoot, so there is no public cafe of that name to walk into. If you want the feel of the show, the cafes in Landour above are the closest real thing.

Getting there, best time and parking

  • Rajpur Road cafes are easiest by car or cab; parking is usually on the roadside or in small lots, and fills up on weekends.
  • Weekday mornings are the quietest. On long weekends the Mussoorie road jams in the afternoon, so plan uphill cafes early.
  • Landour lanes are narrow; park in Mussoorie and walk or take a local taxi.
  • Book ahead for evening tables at larger places such as The Bend on weekends.

How we picked these cafes

This is an independent list. No cafe paid to be included and none of the links are sponsored. We shortlisted cafes that appear in recent food and travel guides or dining app listings, opened those sources, and only kept places that were not marked closed.

Costs and hours are as reported by the sources named, change often, and should be checked with the cafe or a dining app before you go.
